So, that is my mornings at this point - stumble into the cold darkness, fumble with the gym door, fire up the hecka old Fuji 500lb flat screen and start to trot to my boys on ESPN and Ms. Meade giving the global run down. Not as inspiring as Biggest Loser for sure, but plenty to occupy the brain for a 40 minute trot.
Trisha and I are starting to think about pace - what is a realistic time per mile that is sustainable over the crazy distance of 26 miles? Then, always train at that pace but keep upping the distance. All good so far. Course, I'm only running 4 miles per session at this point...
But very, very pumped up for this!
Whats the pace you guys decided on?
ReplyDeleteWe're shooting for 9 minute miles or roughly 6.5 miles per hour. Gets us done around 4:00 hours, which limits the pain while not stopping the heart.
ReplyDeleteDang that's fast. I'm hoping to average 10 minute miles. If I can beat 4:30 I'll be thrilled. Glad you are enjoying ESPN. It's on at my gym too... but I have to be honest and admit that I usually end up watching the today show. That Matt Lauer is the best.
