So, we are hecka up for an Avila training session. How about March/April'ish? Gives us some time to get in shape while still having plenty of time for recovery.
Also, check out the links below. It outlines a method that a buddy at work used for the Big Sur marathon and he swears by it. You basically run for 6-10 minutes, then walk for one minute, then run for 6-10 minutes and then walk for one, and repeat until done. It was created to help hardcore marathoners wanting to break the 3 hour mark, so maybe it will work for some of us!
A this point, I'm looking for any edge I can get!
Grace was just talking about a friend of hers who recommended the same thing. Definitely worth looking into. Reminds me of the days when I used to do late night road trips and would reward myself with a cigarette every hour.
ReplyDeleteAnyway I ran 9 miles this morning and felt good. Definitely should have used some of that Chafing balm that Kiki got me for Christmas.
I think there is a half marathon in SLO sometime during April that we should all do... I'll look it up and post the link.
What about a half marathon in Denver?!?! ;) High altitude training is where it's at!!!
